Contact us for an Active Working Seminar to help your organisation build an active workspace

Any work environment can be transformed into a hub for flexibility, creativity and wellness. Active Working is a holistic system of office behavioural and habit changes which promotes measurable changes in #sitless and #movemore activities to improve wellness and productivity.

Our bespoke seminars help your staff and management to develop clear understanding of the risks of sedentary working, while educating and empowering them to adopt some simple activities and behaviour changes into their working day to help mitigate against these risks.

The Working From Home Office has even less activity than regular office life (on average 5,000 steps less). Education and clear understanding is an essential first step to awareness and motivation for behaviour changes to #MoveMore and #SitLess.

More movement benefits wellbeing and reduces the risk of injury and fatigue. A 2009 Mayo Clinic study found that it was possible to burn an additional 340 calories per day by spending two hours standing instead of sitting, while researchers suggest standing for 15 minutes every hour invigorates the mind and body, boosting circulation, taking pressure off the spine and allowing the muscles to stretch and refresh.

Active Working CIC is leading the global insight and evidence base of research on sedentary behaviour. We commissioned the first global expert recommendations on standing time for office workers (with the support of Public Health England), published by the British Journal for Sports Medicine in June 2015.
